Free ebooks Library zlib project
The Fussy LibrarianWe love sites like NetGalley and BookBub, Riffle and Bublish, creative problem-solvers that offer up innovative platforms to bring new readers to your books. Discoverability is key in this market flooded with new AND backlist titles, so we believe you really do need to list your work on as many of the sites we recommend as you possibly can.

So we’d like to welcome the “new kid on the block.” The Fussy Librarian, like BookBub, can match readers with the genre of books they like, but unique to Fussy: They’ll also match a reader’s preferences about content. So if you’re a reader who only digs mysteries without profanity, violence and sex, they’ll only tell you only about cozy mysteries.

They have adult fiction and nonfiction categories, plus multiple ratings for language, violence and sexual content. Their database stores all of that information and then lets you know only about books that match your preferences. If there aren’t any matches, they don’t bother readers with an email.

Here’s how it works on the author side:

Book submissions

In order to be considered, your book should have:

  • 10 reviews and a 4.0 rating on Amazon or Barnes and Noble or 20 reviews and a 3.5 rating.
  • A quality cover. (Says Fussy,  “It doesn’t matter how brilliant your writing is if you have an amateur-looking cover.”)
  • A price of $5.99 or less.

You can list the same title every 30 days and a different title once a week. You can also sign up multiple books in one visit. They’ll send you an email letting you know when they’re scheduled to run.

Right Now It’s Free!

At this time, book sponsorships are free. In exchange, authors agree to help spread the word about The Fussy Librarian, such as sharing  the site link on Facebook and Twitter. (As a thank you gift, they’ll give you a free future sponsorship to use when they do start charging.)

Eventually, Fussy, like BookBub will charge for “book sponsorships.” They’re promising to offer:

  • One price for paid titles. Whether you list your book at 99 cents, $2.99 or $4.99, you’ll pay the same price.
  • Fair and reasonable prices.
  • One price for everyone. Whether you’re an independent author or the director of marketing at Random House, everyone pays the same price.

The Fussy Librarian is now accepting book submissions. Get your book signed up and tell us about your experience! CLICK HERE TO visit their author submission page.

I signed up early …both as a reader and an author. They sent the “reader” an email yesterday with my book. It’s probably not a coincidence that I sold a Kindle version a few hours later. I’ll keep you posted:)
