I confess we came to the Google+ table a little late. Sure, we’d been into Google Buzz and Google Docs, but to be honest, based on what we saw of Google+, who was following us and who we were following, as well as the interaction of our author clients, it seemed frankly a bit redundant.
That, coupled with the fact that it wasn’t readily available to integrate on our favorite aggregate (Hootsuite), and that it seemed laborious to find people of our “tribe”… well, we weren’t as dialed in as some. But with Google+’s addition of professional pages (which are super easy to create and we’ll blog on that later this week), as well as Hootsuite’s recent addition of Google+ to its dashboard (read THAT blog HERE), we’ve been having lots more fun in the Google+ space lately!
Which is all to say, the plates are ever-shifting on the social media landscape. And it keeps getting better! We recently happened upon our new favorite site to energize our Google+ and that’s FindPeopleOnPlus.com. What we love about this site is not only the ability to search a term (i.e. writer or author or romance novel), but then to also see, as shown in the example, a myriad of ways to narrow that info down to find exactly the people with whom you want to connect… by age, gender, education, geographic location, occupation and more!
Enjoy this tool; it’s a great way to drill down to your reading audience!
Thanks on your marvelous posting! I genuinely enjoyed reading it, you happen to
be a great author. I will ensure that I bookmark your
blog and may come back later in life. I want to encourage
continue your great posts, have a nice evening!
Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on blogs I stumbleupon on a daily basis.
It’s always exciting to read articles from other authors and practice something from their websites.
Hello this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code
with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Most use WSYWIG… WordPress is easiest and has most widgets to make it even easier… and they also do have an HTML screen you can toggle to for each page/post for if/when you have to paste in code (like to imbed video or graphic from another site). Start w/ wordpress (and strongly suggest you buy your domain name vs. wordpress.com/sinks as it’ll continue to grow with you that way…
hi!,I love your writing so much! proportion we
communicate more approximately your article on
AOL? I need a specialist in this space to resolve my problem.
Maybe that is you! Looking forward to see you.
Great info. Lucky me I found your website by accident (stumbleupon).
I have saved it for later!

Definitely WSYIWIG… That’s what we love about WordPress — it’s as easy to learn to manage as sending email and you can have other pages as well besides the blog page — it’s what we use for all our clients (check out the 8/17 blog post from our web designer Kendra Haskins on why we love WordPress! Happily – WP ALSO has the ability to switch to html… which is useful if for instance you want to imbed code (a screen from You Tube, a link from Blog Talk Radio) — you can switch the page tab to html, paste in the code, switch it back and you’ve got what you need!
Hello! Do you know if they make any plugins to assist with Search Engine Optimization?
I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not
seeing very good success. If you know of any please share. Kudos!
WordPress out of the box is already quite a good platform for SEO, and if you search the “Plugins” for SEO you’ll find a LOT more… Platinum SEO is one I’ve used often – can enter values for both meta tags and descriptions – as well as FV Simpler SEO (let’s you put in a meta-description easily – and something to do at the same time you’re plugging in your categories and tags).
Also, install Alexa toolbar on your Firefox or Safari or Chrome or IE — helps see rankings of other sites ranking for those keywords (and you can get intel on sites linking in to them, etc.) – It’s free and useful… Finally, if you have Firefox (recommend because it’s open source like WordPress and has some great add-ons) you can also install Wordtracker SEO Blogger which gives you top search strings and alternatives (to keep content fresh!) Good luck!
