We’ve always been big fans of Vocus and their PR software, having had the occasion to work with their great platform for corporate clients. And for individual authors, the access to HARO (see May 29th’s blog post) has proved to be a wonderful asset.

So it was no surprise when they released this nifty free Social Media Strategy Tool along with Marketing Sherpa that lets you create a customized workbook with a strategic social media plan.

The six steps are highlighted with nifty interactive buttons that break down as follows:

Not everything applies to every author — but you’ll have serious fun with this online app. You can easily drag-and-drop your goals, answer questions and choose your direction to create a social media strategy workbook (and they’ll let you download the pdf) tailored to your needs… Sometimes just knowing where to start is the first key to actually getting started!
