rescuetimeOn November 19 we ran a piece about RescueTime and how it can help an author stay on track with their writing and author marketing. They also conducted a cool experiment during NaNoWriMo last year to actually track who was getting what done, and published the results in a blog post, accompanied by a cool infographic.

As things begin getting busy for the holiday season ahead, we thought our tribe might appreciate these insights to keep you on track, especially if you want to be a highly motivated novelist. You may not be able to spend all day writing, but keeping a bit of time EACH DAY set aside will let you stay focused, making it so much easier to climb back in the saddle with lofty goals for the new year!

Thanks Lynda! One must regularly remind oneself of this and it helps when others reinforce it! I have a feeling it’s an obstacle many have difficulty overcoming. That misery is a show-stopper!

    Fabulous experiment, Shari !

My insight from a publicist’s pov is that too many
authors get sidelined by comparing themselves
with others who have achieved success or by defining THEIR worth
by the best seller’s list. Comparison is the source of all misery!

Yes, your book is your baby so have fun with it!
Your book is unique. No one else but you can give birth to it. That is
powerful! See its worth. Bounce ideas around, run and play
with words, write with the magic of knowing you are
creating a soul – on the page- that others will embrace.

    Run your own race.
