Thanks to freelance writer Heather Legg for this guest post!
For those serious about writing, a writing conference holds huge value. Through a conference, you can explore more about writing, learn different aspects of the craft, and network with a whole list of people – from other writers (both published and those getting started) to publishers, literary agents, and editors. You can form relationships and work on your writing; conferences are a great way to boost a writing career.
Check out these upcoming conferences – one of these may be just the right one for you, and you never know where it may take you!

Writing conferences are a great way to not only enhance your craft, but to get a look into the world of writing as well as the world of editing and publishing – those areas that may be very important if you are looking to become a published author.
This is only a sampling of some of the upcoming 2013 conferences, and there is sure to be one in your area if these don’t work. If you are looking to grow your writing, a conference is a great step in the right direction. Watch for more writer’s conference announcements as they become available, and on our Events Calendar.

Aloha! Let’s give that one a look-see
I really wish I could “Alhoa” in Maui. Actually, anywhere would be great! It’s been quite sometime since I attended a conference, but I do remember that it was a great experience. Maybe this will be the year to attend one. But, Maui would be my pick!!!
Sounds great, doesn’t it? Along with SCWW in Myrtle Beach, W&M in New Orleans… Great locations definitely offer a plus. But more important to writers looking for that long-term relationship with an agent and/or editor is to study the faculty lists for conferences you may be considering – Make sure there are folks there who could be the best fit for your work!
Wow, those are some wonderful-sounding conferences, thanks for sharing. I’m going to AWP for the first time this year and I’m very excited about it! Maybe I’ll see you there!
I have to add that the SC Writers’ Workshop Conference is outstanding as well and who doesn’t want to go to the beach in October!?

It is and it’s one of our favorites – I’ve been both faculty and a past producer of SCWW… You’ll see more of their 2013 lineup in upcoming posts. Have big fun at AWP!
