A few scenes from the floor of this year’s BookExpo America. Enjoy the view, and do view the “happy” video at the bottom of this post, courtesy of BEA… It’ll brighten your day, it will!
Left, BEA Bloggers Conference features a session on video-blogging or “vlogging” — a hot new trend among book reviewers… We’ll be bringing you more on this developing story…
At right, Independent Book Publishers Association (IPBA) executive director Angela Bole interviews authors throughout the show.
At left, the Next Generation Indie Awards brought together award-winning authors at NYC’s beautiful Harvard Club. Attending were, from l-r, WWW’s Shari Stauch, WWW client and BQB published author Tamika Christy (an award finalist!), and BQB publisher Terri Ann Leidich.
At left, Popular Glee actress Jane Lynch, aka Coach Sue Sylvester, signs her book, Happy Accidents, at the Hatchette Books booth.
At right, got to love book banners THIS BIG! One of the many entrances into BookExpo America…
Chris Sims of Kadaxis, one of six lucky finalists presenting “Shark Tank” style, at the BEA Startup Challenge. Stay tuned to future posts for the winners and what their co’s mean to authors!
At right, popular book event reporter Porter Anderson mans the “press” at BEA’s Author Hub. An amazing array of speakers, but sad to say poorly attended, even with its location next to the downtown stage and BEA’s New Title Showcase.
AuthorHub speakers Kristin Nelson (left) and Lori Bennett of Nelson Literary Agency (agent for popular Hugh Howey among others!) discuss their new NLA Digital model for non-NLA signed authors.
Hanging out with the “BookTracks boys” in the BookTrack booth. Stay tuned for news of a cool contest with BookTrack and Hugh Howey!
Miral Sattar of Bibliocrunch giving a talk at the Author Hub. Hint, watch for WWW’s partner page at the newly revamped Bibliocrunch coming this fall!
Also speaking at the AuthorHub, Scratch Magazine editor Jane Friedman, on ten ways to make money while you’re writing your book. Another great talk by someone keen to see writers succeed.
Sure, there were lots of long lines for wildly famous authors. One of the longest was no doubt for Carl Hiassen. We love wildly famous authors (though getting past the lines snaking up and down show aisles can be cumbersome!)
Shari, Just thought you’d like to see my review. I have to work through an arts grant for next year’s TWA conference, but I hope to get in touch with you later this summer. Really, Seriously! I really enjoyed your presentations at the TWA.

A fabulous review, Bruce! Needs quoted on your website and excerpted in your media kit – love it! Good luck with the grant 🙂
