So if you’ve read our last couple Twitter-dedicated posts, you’re now a bit more Twitter savvy. Today, let’s take a look at some tools that make Twitter more useful, more productive and more fun for authors:

hashtweeps.com – Type in your “hashtag” i.e. #writer or #author or #western if that’s what you write, and see how many folks tweeted to that hashtag – Follow who you like; it’s that easy!

wefollow.com – Add yourself using your location, interest and expertise (i.e. #author, #writer) and other words that relate to your interests/issues. View other people already on Twitter who have used that same category, i.e. #mysteries – and let the games begin!

twitterfeed.com – Lets you automatically feed your blog to your Twitter account so when you have a new blog post, your Twitter followers know the moment it’s published!

www.twitimg.com – With TwitIMG you can keep everyone up to date by using your latest Twitter status, displayed in the form of an appealing image. TwitIMG grabs your latest Twitter status and shows it, along with your screen name and avatar, as an image for use on forums, blogs or anywhere else on the web.

friendorfollow.com – Like TweeterKarma, this tool lets you see who you’re following who’s not following you, and who’s following you that you should be following back. (We prefer Tweeter Karma, if only because it’s fun to give that button a “whack.”

monitter.com – Type in up to three keywords (for three columns of info). Up will come the most recent tweets using those keywords. Quick and easy for research and/or finding new folks to follow.

twilert.com or tweetbeep.com – Both tools let you receive regular email updates of tweets containing your brand, product, service, or any keyword search term you enter, rather like a Google Alert for Twitter.

twitterlocal.net – See recent tweets that were generated from a particular location. Great for meeting people near you or getting a sense of what’s happening in a particular location.

twitpic.com – An app that lets you easily share photos on Twitter on the go!

tweetreach.com – See how many people your Tweet or username really reached. View all sorts of interesting stats including impressions, who’s retweeting your tweets and more. You can export the data to a pdf or Excel to share with your agent, editor, publisher, etc. to let ‘em know that when you speak, people listen!

Are you hooked yet? If we’ve convinced you that Twitter is a place where you’ll definitely be spending some marketing time (even 15 minutes a day!), or if you’re eager to find other sites to enhance your Twitter experience, from tracking to building custom backgrounds, there’s a great article at DailyTekk.com with a well-categorized list of the Top 100 Twitter Tools in 2012.

    Hey guys,

Have you tried SocialMotus, a new (and free) social management platform? http://www.socialmotus.com

You can use it to build up targeted Twitter followers fast, unfollow others, view statistics of your posts and so on.

I have another site that I love.
It’s http://www.justunfollow.com and has over 1.1 million users.
    It allows to quickly see:
    NON-FOLLOWERS – People you’ve followed, but haven’t followed in return, There’s a limit of
fifty deletions per day for the free account. [Oldest one is listed first.]
FANS – As it implies, it lists those who are following you and you have reciprocated the following. [This list
    shows your most
FOLLOWING – Lists all those you’re following and who are following in return.
There are other tools and list available which I’ve found to be quite useful as well.
    Have a GREAT DAY !!!
